I was uncertain as to how to go about discerning our spiritual and financial commitment. The eight steps listed below have helped us clarify the process. They may help you and your family as well.

1. Pray..Ask God “What do you want to do through me to accomplish your will in my church?” 

2. Scripture..Meditate on scripture.  Proverbs 3:5-6, Phil 4:6 and 7 

3. Evaluate..Think about the concepts of generosity and giving in light of II Corinthians Chapter 8 

4. List your blessings…perhaps make a “Table of Thanksgiving” 

5. Resurrender…what did God have in mind when the blessings came 

6. Pray….”What is God’s will for us?” 

7. Listen

8. Obey
